I had entertained a kind of naive belief that, once we'd saved the last of the seven master MP3 files two weeks ago, we could then just sit back and enjoy the accolades (or ignore the criticisms) for Squadron Leader Jack Steel with just weekly flick of the electronic wrist to activate the next episode. As it turns out, the learning curve for this whole podcasting business is more of a learning mobius-strip; interesting but seemingly without end! This week we've learned (amongst other things) about how submission approvals work with iTunes (slowly), how reliable online printing companies are (they're not) and how a character from novel with the same name as your own hero can have an adverse affect on your Google search results. Ho hum. Then of course there is the production of Starblade Unsheathed with all the editing and recording work that entailed. And there are another four or five of those to come too!

What's been great though is the response we've had from you guys; maybe you're all too nice for your own good, but the amount of positive feedback has been amazing. That coupled with the fact we've had well over two hundred downloads from the website alone (not including those from iTunes) means that Episode 1 has had far more listeners in week 1 than we had any right to expect. It also meant that (for a while at least) we entered the iTunes top 100 comedy podcasts list, achieving a respectable number #55.

By the time you read this Episode 2 will be up and you'll have a chance to hear the rest of the main characters with the arrival of The Bad Guys and a little bit more about what is going on in Jack Steel's Britain of 1936.

Until next time...
